9 TO 5: THE MUSICAL (2022)

Director

August 2022

Pushed to the boiling point, three female coworkers concoct a plan to get even with the sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot they call their boss. In a hilarious turn of events, Violet, Judy and Doralee live out their wildest fantasy–giving him the boot! Featuring songs by Dolly Parton, 9 to 5 is a musical re-imagining of the hilarious 1980 hit film.

After directing this show at Randolph College, it was thrilling to revisit it as a part of my first season at the helm of the Capitol. Dolly Parton’s music is timeless, and beautifully arranged, and while it was an ambitious way to kick of my tenure here, it definitely set the tone for what we’ve been doing since. I will always connect with this musical, and the heart and hilarity that comes with it, but it was particularly fun to put it together with a team like this.
