DISCOVERING IDENTITY:
HELPING STUDENTS FIND THEIR VOICE
AS A PLAYWRIGHT

Description: This workshop introduces participants to the technical elements of playwriting and scene construction. We start by identifying clear scene elements, and distinguishing the character voice from that of the playwright. The workshop eventually leads to presentation of a few two-hander scenes.
Age Appropriateness: This workshop is best-suited for high school aged participants.

Timeline:
This workshop can be completed in a period. However, with two periods, we could look at each scene in detail and help guide students towards polished second drafts.
