COLLECTIVE CREATION

Description: This workshop draws on some basic Viewpoints techniques to help participants use primary sources and their own writing to create collectively. If you’ve ever had to put together a Remembrance Day assembly and dreaded the thought of pulling out In Flanders Fields, this workshop is for you. Participants will think abstractly and creatively, while working together in small and large groups. And the best part, they will create work that you can be proud of as an educator and as an artist.
Age Appropriateness: I have had success with learners of all ages for this workshop, and it can be tailored to the needs of the group, or to your curriculum needs.

Timeline:
There is a single-period version of this workshop that lightly skims the surface, but I recommend the equivalent of a full-day. This workshop can also become a fuller, more intensive program to support play-building over time. This is an ideal option for production courses where students stage a play in a semester.
