ABOUT ME AS AN EDUCATOR

I spent two and a half years as the Education Manager for Canadian Stage, where I developed and implemented educational and community programming and I am now the Associate Artistic Producer at Theatre Passe Muraille. At TPM, I develop programming for artists, youth, educators and students that reflects the needs of our community and the mandate of the company. I am also the Past Artistic Producer for the Paprika Festival, Toronto’s only theatre festival dedicated to supporting the work of young and emerging artists, primarily those who are 21 and under. I am a past Board Member for the Professional Arts Organizations Network for Education (PAONE).

As an artist educator, I have taught for the Toronto District School Board, the Toronto Catholic District School Board, the Limestone District School Board, the Peel District School Board and the York Region School Board. I have also presented for the Council of Ontario Dramatic and Dance Educators (CODE) and the Canadian Symposium for Arts and Learning (through CNAL). I have taught for York University’s Continuing Teacher Education programs, as well as for PD days in several school boards. I have also worked as an educator for professional companies such as Canadian Stage, Theatre Passe Muraille, Opera Atelier, Young People’s Theatre, and Pleiades Theatre, and have worked in community settings like the John Innes Community Centre, the Scadding Court Community Centre, Casa Loma, Humber Valley United Church, and the June Callwood Centre. I have worked with people of all ages, cultures, abilities, and arts experiences.
